Our First Jackpot!

Friday Night I took “Cash” ( Dels Decider) up to the Branford arena for their Jackpot. My good Friend Rachael Trice Ran her for me and man is she a hot horse! She ran a 16.69, she was just out of the $$ on the 3D. But not bad for an old out of shape mare w/ a new rider. I wish I had taken some pictures while I was there. It was a lot of fun and I cant wait to go again. Now I just have to get the nerve up to actualy run her. I did get to ride her around out side of the arena but after she saw the alley way she was pumped up ready to go!

Man I love this horse she is a lot of fun!

Im so excited about this horse! She is a sweet ride and has a lets go attitude! She is a finished barrel horse and has some reining basics. I love this mares spin! I will be hauling her to the jackpot in Braford on Friday. I just hope I can hold on

Kids will be Kids

A couple of weeks ago we all headed out to the beach for some much needed R&R. Well you cant get to much when there are 3 kids under the age of 5. What were we thinking??? It was not relaxing at all! Next time I think we should leave the kids at home! Other than the crying and fighting we had a great time. I love the beach as long as their are no sharks.

Shippers and loading horses

Why is it that some shippers just dont get it? I live in Florida and all horses entering and exiting the state have to have a current coggins and health certificate. I had a shipper tell the new owner of a horse that i sold the mare did not need to have a health certificate or the coggins back form the lab. He said I can just go around the ag inspection stations. Well sorry but there is no way around them. This guy goes on to tell me that he is a police officer (in Fla). So does that mean the law does not apply to you? Well before he comes to pick up the horse he stops at an ag inspection station and asks about this. The tell him it is a ten thousand dollar fine if he does not have the proper paper work. He then calls the owner of the horse and trys to explan him self. The next shipper that gets hired shows up and has a rust bucket pony trailer to pick up a horse. He stated that he borrowed this trailer from a friend and could not find any other friends that would let him borrow their trailers for free. Why would you let someone use an new horse trailer for free to do a job that they will make money from? The horse could not even fit it’s whole body in the trailer. Im not sure the floor would have made it the whole trip if the horse pawed or moved much. Then the shipper is mad because he has to rent a bigger trailer to do the job and makes a remark to me that he has already lost money on this job. Like that is my problem? This shipper has also pushed the ship date back 3 times because his girlfriend could not go with him. In the end always use a shipping company, they will get it right the first time and be on time!
